Casey Mears and his team, Garage 66, are preparing for NASCAR’s Cook Out 400 at Martinsville, but they’ve had to make a significant last-minute change to their primary sponsorship.

Initially, HitchGo was set to be the main sponsor for Mears’ race car. However, something changed in their agreement, leading the team to secure new sponsorship deals with Coble Enterprises and Canter Power Systems instead.

Coble Enterprises will now have its branding displayed on the quarter panels of the No. 66 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, while Canter Power Systems will feature prominently on the car’s hood.

As Mears approaches his 500th Cup Series start, currently sitting at 489, he expressed his gratitude for the new partnership with Canter, the nation’s leading Generac home backup generator dealer.

“I’m grateful for Canter Power Systems’ support and excited for a strong race weekend at Martinsville,” Mears stated. “Canter is a leader in the generator industry, known for its high-quality, reliable service, and I’m honored to have them as a sponsor.”

Brian Lopatka, Canter Power Systems’ CEO, shared his enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, “We’re excited to team up with Garage 66 and Casey Mears for the Martinsville race. At Canter, we constantly look for ways to expand our brand and engage with NASCAR fans. This sponsorship reflects our values of innovation and excellence, and we believe it will create strong results both on and off the track. This is just the beginning.”

Mears has raced at Martinsville 27 times, with his best finishes being sixth place in 2006 and 2008. While a victory may be unlikely, he and Garage 66 could aim for a top-10 or top-15 finish. Meanwhile, Kevin Harvick has named Denny Hamlin as a strong contender for the race win. Known as the “King of Martinsville” with five victories at the track, Hamlin could break his winless streak that dates back to April 2024.
