Full Qualifying Order Announced for NASCAR Cup Series Race at Bristol
Bristol Motor Speedway is set to host the Food City 500 this Sunday, marking the ninth race of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season. The half-mile high-banked oval in Bristol, Tennessee will also be the venue for a playoff race later in the year, making this event a key opportunity for championship hopefuls to gather crucial data.
This weekend’s event features 39 cars, including three open (non-chartered) entries—the most in any race since the Daytona 500, which had nine. Qualifying order was set using NASCAR’s new two-variable formula introduced for 2025. Drivers will qualify in reverse order based on that metric.
Since Bristol is a short track, each driver will make two timed laps in a single round of qualifying, with the faster lap determining their official time. Unlike last year, there are no more qualifying groups.
