Cleetus McFarland, known for his YouTube channel, faced some challenges during the ARCA Menards Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where Austin Green claimed his first victory. In his third ARCA start, McFarland finished ninth, improving on his earlier top-ten result at Talladega Superspeedway. Starting from 11th on a 32-car grid, he made progress early in the race, reaching seventh place before opting to stay out during the first caution.
After restarting on the front row with 62 laps remaining, McFarland struggled to maintain traction and lost control of his No. 30 Rette Jones Racing Ford, colliding with Isabella Robusto’s car and sending her into the wall. This incident resulted in damage to several other vehicles, with around ten drivers affected, while McFarland only sustained minor damage.
Feeling frustrated with his mistake, he expressed his disappointment by hitting the steering wheel and slapping his helmet inside the car. He acknowledged his error, labeling it a rookie mistake in a radio message to his team.
Despite the earlier incident, McFarland maintained a respectable pace and was running seventh at the halfway point. As the race progressed, he managed to climb to fifth place before ultimately finishing ninth during the final green flag run. He also lost a lap to the leader as Green passed him toward the end of the race.
