Daniel Suarez Says Trackhouse Split Was Due to Lack of Chemistry, Feeling Unheard
Daniel Suarez has confirmed that he will leave Trackhouse Racing at the end of the 2025 NASCAR season after a five-year run with the team. Speaking candidly during Saturday’s media bullpen session, Suarez shared that the decision had been in the works for months and ultimately brought him a sense of relief.
“I’ve known this was coming for a while,” Suarez said. “Like everything in life, things evolve — people change, companies change — and that’s okay. There just wasn’t that connection anymore. I don’t hold any hard feelings. I’d rather focus on the good years we had together, but it was time to move on.”
Suarez likened the team dynamic to a relationship that had run its course. “For the last 8 to 10 months, something’s been missing. It’s like being in a relationship where you’re only staying together because you share a house. The chemistry just wasn’t there anymore — and I think that feeling was mutual.”
The Mexican driver also expressed frustration about not being heard when raising concerns about team performance. “I’ve been vocal about things we need to improve, and I’m not the only one seeing it. But progress has been slow, and over time, it felt like my voice didn’t carry much weight. It made me feel less valued.”
Currently sitting 29th in the standings without a win this season, Suarez trails behind his Trackhouse teammates: Shane van Gisbergen, a rookie, and Ross Chastain, who has already notched a win and ranks inside the top ten.
