Kyle Busch Frustrated After Tough Coca-Cola 600 Finish “Feels Like a Broken Record”
Kyle Busch expressed his growing frustration after finishing 15th in the 2025 Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, describing the weekend as yet another in a series of setbacks for his No. 8 Chevrolet team. The 40-year-old driver shared his disappointment, telling NBC Sports, “I feel like a broken record. It was another tough night for us.”
The problems began early in the weekend with a steering issue that forced the team to replace the pump. Though Busch was able to get in a qualifying lap, they had to change the steering rack and start from the back of the field. During the race, the car struggled in traffic, and despite adjustments from crew chief Randall Burnett that improved performance, something broke mid-race with a loud pop. The team couldn’t identify the exact failure, and it essentially ended their chances of contending.
A late-race strategy move didn’t pay off either due to a pit road issue, compounding an already difficult night. Busch also took a moment to honor Fireman Jeffrey M. Svoboda, whose family allowed his name to be featured on the car as part of Memorial Day weekend tributes.
This challenging race came just after Busch signed an extension with Richard Childress Racing through 2026. Team owner Richard Childress remained optimistic, saying, “I love a driver that doesn’t like to lose. We’ve got exciting things ahead, and I still believe Kyle can win a championship with RCR.”
