NASCAR is continuing its global expansion and is expected to return to Canada in 2026.
A major storyline for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season is the highly anticipated race scheduled for June in Mexico City.
In recent weeks, drivers Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, Christopher Bell, and Daniel Suarez visited Mexico as part of a promotional tour for the upcoming event.
Since announcing the Mexico race last year, NASCAR officials have emphasized that this is just the beginning of international events, with more locations to follow.
During an interview on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Cup Series Managing Director Brad Moran addressed speculation about the Mexico race and mentioned other potential international destinations.
Moran confirmed that NASCAR is committed to global expansion, stating that the Mexico race is fully planned, with teams having spent months preparing for it. He also expressed interest in bringing NASCAR to Brazil, Canada, and Europe in the future.
On Saturday, Le Journal de Québec revealed that the Xfinity and Truck Series will race at Montreal’s Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in the summer of 2026, with the Cup Series following in 2027.
This will not be NASCAR’s first event in Canada. The Xfinity Series previously raced at the same track from 2007 to 2012, while the Truck Series competed at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park from 2013 to 2019.
