The NASCAR Cup Series is gearing up for its first of two races at Darlington Raceway this season with the Goodyear 400, scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
This event marks the eighth points race of the 2025 season and will feature 293 laps around the unique 1.366-mile egg-shaped oval in Darlington, South Carolina, famously known as the “Lady in Black.” With the track also set to host the playoff-opening Cook Out Southern 500 in late August, teams are eager to gather valuable data.
However, for the fifth consecutive weekend, the race will not air on the main Fox network, but rather on Fox Sports 1. Despite being the eighth points race, the Goodyear 400 is considered the ninth event of Fox’s early-season coverage due to the inclusion of the non-points Cook Out Clash exhibition race at Bowman Gray Stadium.
Fox aired the first four events of the year, including the Clash and the first three regular-season races.
After a break for Easter, Fox returned for another race, but will wrap up its broadcast coverage on the main network with the Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on April 27. The remaining three races in Fox’s coverage window, including the Goodyear 400, will all air on FS1.
Previously, Fox covered 18 races (including two exhibitions), but the number has been cut to 14 this season due to a new seven-year, $7.7 billion media rights agreement that brought Amazon Prime Video and TNT Sports into the broadcasting mix.
