NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Connor Zilisch is set to make his NASCAR
Cup Series debut in the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. He will drive a fourth entry for Trackhouse Racing, piloting the No. 87 Chevrolet with sponsorship from Red Bull.

Zilisch aims to become the youngest driver to win a Cup Series race, which requires him to compete before turning 19. He believes he is prepared for the challenge, especially on a road course, and wants to take the opportunity as soon as possible.
Although the No. 87 car does not have a charter guaranteeing a starting spot, with only 37 cars entered—three short of a full field—Zilisch is assured of making the race.
Zilisch will join Trackhouse Racing’s regular Cup Series drivers: Ross Chastain, Daniel Suárez, and Shane van Gisbergen.

He mentioned that he only recently became aware of van Gisbergen but has since developed a friendship with him. Zilisch appreciates the respect and guidance he has received from his new teammate, which has helped him adjust to the team.

So far, Zilisch has competed in six races each in the Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series. This year marks his first full-time season in NASCAR, driving the No. 88 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports.

Despite his limited national series experience, Zilisch has already secured an Xfinity Series win, achieving victory in his debut race last season at Watkins Glen International.
