The NASCAR Xfinity Series is on break until May 24 at Charlotte, but with 12 races in the books and 14 left in the regular season, the playoff race is beginning to take shape. Here’s how things are looking around the cut line:
7. Sam Mayer (+98 above the cut line)
8. Carson Kvapil (+31)
9. Jeb Burton (+27)
Burton’s steady performance—including a 10th-place finish at Texas and four top-10s total—has kept him safely above the bubble. He and the small Jordan Anderson Racing team have shown consistency, but time will tell if they can keep pace with the larger organizations through the grueling summer stretch.
10. Ryan Sieg (+24)
Sieg continues to fly under the radar with consistent finishes, including an eighth at Texas. His veteran experience could prove key as he aims for another playoff appearance.
11. Harrison Burton (+14)
Similar to cousin Jeb, Harrison Burton has made a strong start with AM Racing. His prior Cup Series experience may be a big asset in helping this smaller team push toward the postseason.
12. Sheldon Creed (+11)
Creed has slipped a bit lately, bringing him closer to the bubble. Still, with top-tier equipment and proven talent, he’s arguably the most secure of those hovering near the cutoff. Securing his first Xfinity win would lock him in and ease any pressure.
13. Daniel Dye (-11)
Dye has quietly impressed in his rookie campaign. An 11th-place run at Texas puts him within striking distance if any of the drivers ahead stumble. His improvement compared to his Truck Series stint has been notable.
14. Taylor Gray (-19)
Gray was on the verge of a playoff spot before a late-race spin by Sammy Smith at Martinsville cost him valuable points. Despite the setbacks, he remains in contention and has strong support from the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 54 team.
15. Nick Sanchez (-21)
Sanchez has had a quiet but steady rookie year, keeping the No. 48 competitive—similar to where Parker Kligerman had it in past seasons. Lack of experience could be a challenge late in the season, but he’s still a contender.
16. Dean Thompson (-55)
Thompson has had a decent rookie year with Sam Hunt Racing, including three top-10s. However, his 27th-place finish at Texas hurt his chances. Still, staying relevant in the playoff conversation would mark a successful debut season.
